A traditional Korean Bride's Palanquin on display in the National Folk Museum of Korea (국립민속박물관), Gyeongbokgung Palace (경복궁), Seoul (서울).
In a traditional Korean Wedding, the wedding would take place at the bride's home. After the wedding ceremony the bride would be taken to the groom's house in an intricately carved palanquin, which is called a gama (가마) in Korean. The palanquin would be covered with a tiger skin on top, to ward off evil spirits and bad luck.
