Inside one of the rooms of Manchunjeon (만춘전), in Gyeongbokgung (경복궁) Palace, Seoul (서울), South Korea (대한민국).
Manchunjeon was one of the buildings used for the King's office during winter. Located to the east of Sajeongjeon (사정전), which was used during the rest of the year, Manchunjeon incorporated an Ondol (온돌) underfloor heating system, which was lacking in Sajeongjeon.
Originally constructed in 1867 (the fourth year of King Gojong), a corridor connected Manchunjeon to Sajeongjeon, but the corridor was dismantled during the Japanese occupation of Korea. Manchunjeon was burned down during the Korean War, and was reconstructed in 1988.
