A large grass and ivy Haechi (해치) scultpture on Gwanghwamun Plaza (광화문 광장) in central Seoul (서울), South Korea (대한민국). The Haechi, or Haetae (해태), is the symbolic icon of Seoul, the capital city of South Korea. The legendary creature is meant to be a fire-eating dog, and was traditionally used as a guardian to protect buildings from fire.
