The Kyobo Life Insurance Building (교보생명 사옥) on Sejongno (세종로) in central Seoul (서울), South Korea (대한민국).
The building is the headquarters of Kyobo Life Insurance (교보생명), a large Life Insurance company in South Korea. In front of the building, located on Gwanghwamun Plaza (광화문 광장) in the center of Sejongno, is the Admiral Yi Sun-sin statue (이순신 장군 동상) and Yi Sun-sin Fountain (이순신 분수).
Admiral Yi Sun-sin (이순신 장군), was Korea's most famous Naval commander, who fought against the invading Japanese in the late 16th Century. He is famed for winning every battle he fought in, and inflicting heavy losses on the Japanese navy. His most famous battle was the Battle of Myeongnyang (명량대첩) where he defeated a Japanese force of 133 warships with only 12 ships. For this reason, the fountain is also known by the name “Fountain 12.23“ (분수 12·23).
