The observatory deck on floor T3 of the N Seoul tower offers excellent panoramic views of Seoul, here looking south towards the Han river (한강).
The N Seoul Tower (엔 서울타워) was built in 1969, and was first opened to the public on October 15, 1980. The tower was remodelled in 2005, at a cost of ₩15 billion. Upon re-opening in December 2005, the tower was given its current name 'N Seoul Tower', with the 'N' standing for 'New'. Previously it was known as just the Seoul Tower or Namsan Tower.
Standing on top of Mount Namsan (남산), the N Seoul tower is 236.7 metres high, the top being around 480 metres above sea level. It is a major tourist attraction in Seoul, with around a million visitors a year.
