Long shadows of tree trunks are cast across a field by the setting sun on a cold winter's day, near East Farndon, Northamptonshire. The field the shadows are cast across is still full of stubble from last year's crop. Along the edge of the field runs a hedge that is dotted with a line of deciduous trees, all having dropped their leaves for the winter.
The photograph was taken using infrared light, which results in the sky appearing much darker than it would in visible light, while the trees appear brighter.
