A rain filled depression in a field near Lubenham, Leicestershire. Although the depression is normally dry, it can fill with water after prolonged periods of rain. The twisty-turny nature of the depression gives the impression of a river, but this 'river' does not run anywhere.
It is likely that this was previously a section of the River Welland, and that work was later undertaken to shift the course of the river slightly. The depression starts near the current river course and ends near the current river course. The stretch of river that appears to have been created as the new route is relatively straight. Where this depression almost rejoins the river, the river course then starts twisting again.
