A group of flowering Michaelmas daisies (Aster sp.). There are numerous similar looking flowers in the Aster genus that are commonly referred to as Michaelmas daisies, as they flower around Michaelmas, 29th September.

The flowers heads have purple petals with yellow centres. Each plant bears large numbers of flowers, making it a popular garden plant for autumn.
