Ultraviolet photograph of a Michaelmas daisy (Aster sp.) flower. There are numerous similar looking flowers in the Aster genus that are commonly referred to as Michaelmas daisies, as they flower around Michaelmas, 29th September.

In visible light the flower heads have purple petals with yellow centres.In ultraviolet light the centres of the flower heads appear much darker.
