Infrared close-up photo of a Gladiolus 'Priscilla' flower. Under visible light Gladiolus × hortulanus 'Priscilla' has light pink flowers with darker pink edges and a pale yellow centre. In infrared this is all lost and the flower appears very plain and monotone.
The flowers are arranged on a tall flower spike, with flowers opening first at the bottom of the spike. As the newer flowers higher up the spike start to unfurl, the older flowers at the base of the spike start to die off.
