Forget-me-not flowers in ultraviolet

Description

Title:
Forget-me-not flowers in ultraviolet
Caption / Description:

Ultraviolet photograph of Forget-me-not flowers. Under visible light the flowers appear pale blue with a yellow centre. Under ultraviolet light there are dark markings near the centre of the flower that are not visible to the eye. Interestingly, the older flowers also appear much lighter than the more recently opened flowers.

The Forget-me-not is a popular garden flower, generally preferring shady areas. The flowers are quite small, this particular plant has flowers with a diameter around 1 cm.
