Orange flowered Primose [Multispectral]

Orange flowered Primose [Multispectral]

Description

Title:
Orange flowered Primose [Multispectral]
Caption / Description:

Multispectral close-up photo of a garden Primula cultivar with bright orange flowers. A dusting of small dew drops rest on some of the flower petals.

The photo is a combination of 3 separate photos taken using ultraviolet light, visible light, and infrared light. The photos were combined into a single image using various blend modes in Photoshop.

Primula species have been extensively cultivated and hybridised, mainly derived from P. elatior, P. juliae, P. veris and P. vulgaris. The term Polyanthus (often called P. polyantha) refers to one such group of plants, which has produced a large variety of strains in all colours, usually grown as annuals, and available as seeds or young plants.
