Monument to Lenin outside the Lenin Palace in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. The Palace was constructed near the Bryansk area, where workers had fought during the 1905 revolution. It was opened in 1932, the 15th anniversary of the 1917 revolution.
The building was initially planned as a Palace of Labour, intended to be a "cultural center of metalworkers". The architect Alexander L. Krasnoselskiy won an all-union competition for the project, but left before construction started in 1926. A theatre was later added to the building in 1936.
Today the building is in a bad state of repair, and the interior has been partially looted. Parts of the building are cordoned off, and police regularly patrol the area to deter looters or anyone who would like to take a look inside.
