The Osaka Prefectural Police Headquarters Building (大阪府警察本部棟; Ōsaka-fu keisatsu honbu tō), in Osaka city, Japan. The building was designed by the famous Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa (黒川 紀章; Kurokawa Kishō), one of the founders of the Metabolist Movement.
Construction work started on the building in 2002, with completion in 2008. The building is located to the south-west of Osaka Castle Park, and important Toyotomi era relics were discovered during the excavation of the site.
The building is designed as a symbiosis of architecture and nature, constructed to be energy-saving and environmentaly friendly. In the centre is a large courtyard planted with various shrubs to create an airy and relaxing space. The building covers a total area of 11,879m², while the total floor area is 119,501 m². It consists of 12 floors altogether, with two of these being basement floors. The main structure of the building consists of a steel frame and re-inforced concrete.
