Nakseonjae, the library and living quarters built by King Heonjong, the 24th monarch of the Joseon dynasty. Nakseonjae is located within the grounds of Changdeokgung palace, in Seoul, South Korea. Originally it was built as part of the adjacent Changgyeonggung palace, together Changgyeonggung and Changdeokgung are sometimes known as the East Palace.
Reflecting King Heonjong's sense of style, Nakseonjae lacks the colourful Dancheong painting that decorates the majority of palace buildings.
