Doors on the side of a building in Changdeokgung palace, Seoul, South Korea. Changdeokgung is a Joseon-era palace, founded in 1405 by King Taejong. Changdeokgung was built as a secondary palace as the king felt that the location of the primary palace, Gyeongbokgung, was not auspicious enough.
The buildings in Changdeokgung are mostly wooden structures and many have been burnt down and had to be rebuilt over the life of the palace.
