Seonjeongmun gate, in Changdeokgung palace, Seoul, South Korea. Seonjeongmun leads to Seonjeongjeon hall, which was used by the king to discuss state affairs with government ministers and officials.
Changdeokgung was founded in 1405 as a secondary palace by King Taejong. In 1991 a restoration project was launched by the South Korean government to restore the palace, which had been partly destroyed during the Japanese occupation of Korea. In 1997 it was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
