Looking up at the roof from the south-east corner of Injeongjeon, the throne hall of Changdeokgung palace. Changdeokgung, located in Seoul, South Korea, was created as a secondary palace by King Taejong in 1405.
Injeongjeon is built so that it appears to have two stories from the outside, but inside it is a single storey building with a high ceiling. The building has been rebuilt various times over the years, with the current building dating from 1804. It was then modified in 1908 to a more western style, with wooden floor, lighting, curtains, and glass windows being installed. Still, the building remains distinctly Korean, painted in the traditional bright and colourful dancheong style.
