The monument of Wongaksa temple (원각사비), located in Tapgol Park (탑골 공원), Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea. The monument was erected in 1471, the 2nd year of the reign of King Seongjong to commemorate the founding of Wongaksa.
The monument consists of a granite base carved into the shape of a turtle, and a combined body and head stone made of marble. The turtle has lotus leaves carved on its back around where the body stone rests, and the body/head stone has dragons carved at the top. The total height of the monument is 4.94m.
On the body stone of the monument there are two inscriptions, the front one composed by Kim Suon and inscribed by Seong Im, the one on the back was composed by Seo Geojeong, and inscribed by Jeong Nanjong. This monument and a thirteen storey pagoda are all that is left of Wongaksa temple. The monument has been designated as Treasure #3 by the South Korean government.
