Daeungjeon, the main hall of Jogyesa Temple, in Jongno-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Daeungjeon (Hangeul: 대웅전; Hanja: 大雄殿) means 'Great Hero Hall', and is the largest single storey hall in Korea. Inside the hall is a large golden statue of Gautama Buddha. The hall was built in 1938, and is painted in the traditional Korean dancheong style. Paintings on the outside of the building depict the Buddha's life and teachings.
