A monument to the water wheel mill at the Korean Folk Village, in Gyeonggi-do province, South Korea. The monument is insrcibed with the poem 'Water Wheel Mill' by Korean poet Yi Ha-yoon. The poem is written top to bottom, right to left, and reads:
蓮圃詩碑 (연포시비)
물네방아
끝업시 도라가는 물네방아 박휘에
한닙식 한닙식 이내 추억을 걸면
물속에 잠겻다 나왓다 돌때
한업는 뭇기억이 님님히 나붓네
박휘는 끝업시 돌며 소리치는데
맘속은 지나간 옛날을 찾아가
눈물과 함숨만을 지어서 줍니다. ....
나만흔 방아직이 머리는 휜데
힘업는 視線(시선)은 무엇을 찾는지
화속이다 굉이소리 찌을적 마다
요란히 소리내며 물은 흐른다
The Korean Folk village was set up by the South Korean government in 1973 in an effort to preserve and promote the history of Korea. Open all year round, the Folk village receives around 1.8 million visitors each year.
