A large sign in City Hall Station (시청역) proclaims Seoul as having been chosen as the Design Capital for 2010.
The title of Design Capital 2010 was awarded by the International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICISD). It is a biennial award, given to cities that have demonstrated exceptional progress using the varied tools design offers. After being awarded the title, the Seoul city government started work on a number of projects to celebrate and promote design.
