A Tamworth Pig at Acton Scott Historic Working farm in Shropshire, England.
The Tamworth Pig originated in Tamworth, Staffordshire in 1812 after pigs from Sir Robert Peel's estate were interbred with Irish Pigs known as 'Irish Grazers'.
Tamworth Pigs are among the least interbred European pigs with non-European breeds, and therefore are one of the closest pig breeds to the original European forest swine.
