A Royalist Soldier from the Sealed Knot English Civil War Re-enactment group demonstrates how opposing pikemen would continue moving towards each other until they met face to face, even while pierced by the enemy's pike.
The display was part of the events on Harborough Hoards and History day, celebrating the re-opening of Harborough Museum, now displaying the Hallaton Treasure.
Market Harborough was made the headquarters of the King's Army in June 1645, during the English Civil War, before the decisive Battle of Naseby in which the King's forces were defeated.
