Elegantissima is a cultivar of the Red-Barked Dogwood (Cornus alba), also known as the Siberian or White Dogwood. Elegantissima has variegated foliage, making it a popular large shrub for gardens and parks.

The Red-Barked Dogwood has small white flowers that are followed by white fruit, often with a slight blue tinge. Cornus alba is deciduous, and when it looses its leaves in autumn reveals red stems, which help brighten up the garden in winter.
