A fly of species Coenosia tigrina sits on a ragwort flower. Coenosia tigrina is a common muscid fly, found throughout the UK. It feeds on smaller flies. The abdomen has large brown spots and sometimes features black bands between the abdominal segments, where the intersegmental membranes can be seen.
